My favorite book so far this year has been Adventures of a South Pole Pig, by Chris Kurtz. The book is about a pig named Flora who doesn’t like being in her pen. And one day, while playing a game she made up, she broke a board and wandered into the the “real world.” She ran in the corn fields then found a pack of dogs pulling a practice sled with wheels. Flora ran with the sled until the guy on the sled put her back in her rightful position, her pen. One day a few years later some men separated her and her brothers from her mom who was put in a different pen. Here comes the exciting part -- but you have to read that for yourself.
My favorite restaurant is Ra. It serves exceptional sushi. The waiters/waitresses are very nice and always ask if you need chop-stick helpers. When you walk in there you would be amazed the by the lighting. The lights are big red balls with light bulbs inside of them. A few seats have bamboo sticks behind them. My favorite food there is porkgoyza.

Food that keeps me healthy and fills my mouth with delicious tastes. Water that quenches my thirst and keeps me alive. My two homes that keep me warm when it's cold and cool when it's hot. Friends that watch TV with me, play Minecraft with me, go hiking with me -- anytime that I want. And the military that keeps me safe. ~The Umm King When I think of autumn
I think of... scarecrows standing in the fields, pumpkin pie, apple cider, mouth-watering candy, and spooky costumes. ~The Umm King |
